414 pages, 108 thousand words, it’s a real epic adventure! The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic America, along the Appalachian mountains. Two naive friends strike out across the barren wastelands to look for fortune and adventure, and within fifteen minutes, their journey ends badly… fortunately they are saved at the last moment by two bandits who know the wastelands better than anyone else in the world… and together, they set out on a journey across the Appalachian Mountains where they face bandits, murderers, slavers, psychos, mutated creatures, and zombies!

It’s a fun, feel-good story with characters you’ll love, with steam-powered everything, gunfights, and flying machines.

I’ve been working on this for over two years.

So, check it out! I think you’ll fall in love with the characters and enjoy the journey.

It’s available at Smashwords in all ebook formats, and at Amazon as Kindle and Print versions

My new steampunk novel is finished and will be released within the next week. Stay tuned!

It’s called Milk Of Ruin, and follows the adventures of four people across a post apocalyptic landscape in search of fortune.

Back of book blurb…

“After civilization was beaten back by natural disaster after disaster,
a defeated but defiant new world emerged. Gone was petroleum-
based energy, gone was electricity, gone were the megacities and
states and governments. What remained was a brutal wasteland
dotted with small, independent cities and towns. America had
become a land of steam power, gunfighters and
uncertainty once again.

“Only the foolish and the most adventurous journeyed into the
wastelands, braving the bandits, killers, rapists, slavers,
thieves, and even mutated creatures in search of something
more than just living and dying in the relatively safe but
strict and boring cities.”

Here’s a link to my three books (so far) for younger readers

The Rainy Day Club – http://www.amazon.com/dp/1492743011

The Intergalactic War On Maple Street – http://www.amazon.com/dp/1493611453

What You Wish For – http://www.amazon.com/dp/1494299739

coming soon, Ghost Smashers Incorporated Book One

All of these books are kid-friendly. I don’t try to preach or teach, there’s no big lesson to learn or moral. My books are about good people facing problems and overcoming them.

The writing is funny, quirky, and smart. I do not ‘write down’ to a level in my books. I believe children 9-12 are perfectly capable of reading on an adult level as long as it’s kept light and peppy. I do write stories with characters who are children and put them in situations most kids might face (like fighting aliens… er). My books entertain readers, and at the same time, present situations and outcomes that are challenging and uplifting and can be assimilated into their real lives.

I feel parents should put as much thought into the authors of the books their children read as they do in babysitters. And I respect and appreciate that trust.

I write books for younger readers.

I have 3 published that centered around 10 year old girls.

The Rainy Day Club – http://www.amazon.com/dp/1492743011

Jenny Lynn is alone, ten years old and orphaned in a battle-scarred world that no longer cares. The bright side is she has her very own garbage dump! Every day is an adventure until one day an old man shows up (a scientist)… and a woman (homeless)… and a thirteen year old girl (who is quite possibly insane)… and then the real adventure begins! And together they save the world… or something like that.

The Rainy Day Club is a fun-filled modern fantasy adventure with odd, quirky characters, scares and mystery, but at the same time, it is a deep, caring, and heartfelt story about real family and friendship… and saving the world… sorta.

Oh, also contains: a lot of rain, mud, shiny things, tea drinking, a guard bear, and a bazooka! (The guard bear is a lie.)

The Intergalactic War On Maple Street – http://www.amazon.com/dp/1493611453

Aliens have landed, and right on Emily’s street! What’s a girl to do but fight! The war is on! An ordinary girl, an ordinary street… then the extraordinary happens! Join ten year old Emily and her small group of friends as they fight a war of the worlds… on Maple Street!

What You Wish For – http://www.amazon.com/dp/1494299739

School’s out for summer and Erin is excited. She’s learned the older girl she idolizes is going to be a summer camp counselor. So, Erin is off to camp as well! But things don’t go exactly as planned.

From the beginning, the only thing that goes right is meeting a new friend her own age. She’s not used to having friends. And when they meet a fairy in the woods, things certainly get interesting… and not in a good way.

Be careful what you wish for. The wrong wish can ruin your life, she learns, as her group must trek through the woods, fighting the elements and an assortment of fairy-folk, on a journey to find the past… and change it.

Join Erin, her new friend Denny, Apple the fairy, and the other girls of Camp Bearinthewoods, on a fun adventure as they help their counselor, Tamara, reverse a curse she wished upon herself when she was their age.

The new book is out!
